Register for Girls are SMART Engineering Day – March 7th

Registration is now open for this year’s Girls are S.M.A.R.T. (Studious, Mighty, Amazing, Resilient, and Talented) Engineering Day hosted by the Society of Women Engineers (SWE) collegiate section at Colorado School of Mines, sponsored by Kiewit!

This event involves gathering students in grades 1st-5th on the Mines campus to participate in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM) activities to explore what it means to be an engineer and scientist. This year, Girls are SMART will take place on Saturday, March 7th, 2026, in the Ben H. Parker Student Center Ballrooms at Colorado School of Mines from 9:00 AM to 12:00 PM. 

Eight different interactive activity rotations will present an opportunity to engage with STEM concepts. A variety of topics will be covered related to many of the disciplines studied at Mines! At Girls are SMART, students will: 

  • Learn about the scientific process and design processes 

  • Build problem-solving and communication skills 

  • Engage with various fields of STEM

Cost: $15 per student (non-refundable); includes a light breakfast and materials for all activities

Spots at this event are available on a first-come, first-served basis. There are two separate registration forms in the link below, please choose the grade range that your student is in.
